Celebrating the people, places, and flavors that give Minneapolis its soul.

Minneapolis Has a Story to Tell
The restaurants, businesses, and people who live, work, and play here give this city a soul that’s impossible to ignore. If you already call Minneapolis home, you know exactly what we mean.
Our video podcast goes deep into the neighborhoods, conversations, and moments that make this city worth experiencing, and shares them with the rest of the world.
To kick things off, David Therkelsen and Terry White are hitting the road — and they need your help. Over ten days, they’ll travel to Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco to do the kind of on-the-ground reporting that doesn’t happen over Zoom: talking to residents, business owners, and city officials to understand what’s working, what isn’t, and why. Minneapolis is at a crossroads. The debates we’re having right now — about public safety, housing, homelessness, and small business survival — aren’t unique to us.
These three cities have been living with versions of the same fights for years, and their choices have produced real, measurable results, both good and bad. David and Terry will bring those stories back in the form of articles and video podcasts that go beyond headlines and talking points. This isn’t advocacy journalism with a predetermined conclusion — it’s an honest look at what other cities have tried and what Minneapolis might learn from them. Good reporting costs money. Your donation helps ensure this project gets done with the depth it deserves. If you believe Minneapolis deserves better-informed public debates, this is a direct way to invest in that.
